My name is Rachel Harrison and I am running for College of the Liberal Arts Representative. I am currently a junior from Oaks, Pennsylvania. I am double majoring in Political Science and History. I am currently a member of the Schreyer Honors College and the Paterno Fellows Program. I have been involved in the Liberal Arts Undergraduate Council since my freshman year. This past year, I served as the President of Liberal Arts Envoys, which are the student ambassadors for the College of the Liberal Arts. I have served on both the 10th and 11th Assemblies of UPUA and have sat on the Academic and Governmental Affairs Committees for both years. With your vote, I hope to continue my involvement in the 12th assembly as the Liberal Arts Representative.
Fight on state!
- Create an online syllabi database:
As it currently stands, students have a tough time knowing what scholarship opportunities are available to them. I would like to create a database that serves as a collection of scholarships from each academic college so that students are more aware of opportunities to offset the cost of attending Penn State.
- Protect our International Students:
Under the current administration, international students on our campus are afraid of being targeted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). All students who attend Penn State have a right to be here, and it is our duty as students to protect our fellow peers. I will work hard to ensure that our international students are protected and have the resources that they need in order to attend Penn State and be successful.
- Advocate for the implementation of the Lincoln Plan:
The Lincoln Plan would ensure that low-income students are able to freeze their tuition after freshman year so they will not be subject to increases in tuition after their first year.
