I was born in Hoboken, New Jersey and grew up in Belleville, New Jersey. I am studying Public Relations and Political Science and aspire to go to law school after graduating. I have been active voice for diversity and inclusion through my work within Latino Caucus and UPUA. I have also been a proponent of political discussion through my work within the Penn State College Democrats. In each of these organizations I have advocated on behalf of students, and would love the opportunity to continue to do so. I am now running for the office of At-Large Representative in the 12th Assembly of UPUA. Please allow me the opportunity to continue working to advocate and work on legislation for all students.
- My candidacy for At-Large Representative is so that I can work to better the lives of my fellow students. I want to work so that students have a larger voice and their concerns and needs are met. To better do this I want to meet the following goals and so much more throughout the next year. Our government representatives have a massive impact on our lives. As a representative student government it is our job to build relationships with legislators so that we can better advocate for student friendly legislation. Whether it’s for street lights in the borough alleys, or fighting to increase state, and federal funding to keep our tuition bills down it is all crucial. We need to make sure our fellow students who are struggling with mental health issues can receive proper help in a timely manner. Finally, I would like reach more diversity organizations on campus to help bring different perspectives into UPUA, and work toward truly being All In.
- Strengthen our ability to work with legislatures at the local, state, and federal level.
- Continue working for more Mental Health resources and funding.
- Create permanent liaison positions for the diversity organizations on campus within UPUA
