Hi! My name is Ben Koleno and I am currently a second year student in the College of Liberal Arts studying Psychology/Neuroscience. I was born and raised in Mechanicsburg, PA and am a lifelong Penn Stater. I have a passion for sports as I played baseball all throughout high school and am a Pittsburgh sports fan.
I am running for At-Large in the University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) to further the betterment of student life. In my first year, I was a member of the first year council where I learned the ins and outs of this organization. This past assembly, I had the honor to serve as the Vice Chair of Campus Operations as well as the THON Fundraising Chair.
If elected, I plan to continue my work in the Campus Operations committee to help further improve our beautiful campus. I will also be in the Academic Affairs Committee. Some things that I wish to accomplish as your representative are:
– Improve campus safety (crosswalks, signage, lighting)
– Improve the CATA bus system (more routes, expanded hours)
– Educate the Penn State community about the work the UPUA does
– Continue to improve the UPUA’s involvement in THON
These are just some of the many things I will strive to complete as an elected member of the UPUA. As always, there are areas of improvement around campus and the outside community. I urge you to reach out to the UPUA or myself and set up a meeting to discuss any concerns you may have.
When PSU is a ten out of ten, you’ll know because you voted for Ben!
I ask for your support on April 2nd so we can improve the lives of so many students and continue to be the best university. As always, We Are Penn State!
