Dawson Glogau

Hi there! My name is Dawson Glogau, and I am beyond excited to announce that I’m running to be your next At-Large Representative in the 19th Assembly!

Just a little bit about me! I am a first-year student from Kane, Pennsylvania, majoring in Political Science with a minor in Child Maltreatment and Advocacy Studies. I spend most of my time consuming large amounts of caffeine, listening to Dolly Parton, giving campus tours to future Penn Staters, and working within student advocacy organizations. Within this past academic year, I joined the First-Year Council in UPUA, which has taught me the skills necessary to hit the ground running for the positions I’m running for. 

Specifically within UPUA, I’ve had first-hand experience in the Academic Affairs Committee, starting the process of brainstorming ways/building connections that allow the student government can better support the library so that it can better support the Penn State Student Body. 

• You deserve a library with accessible hours and easy-to-access resources. 

You may have also seen me tabling on campus during Mental Health and Wellness Week (with an inflatable purple elephant, Ellie!) in the HUB, handing out Penn State Bakery cookies, stickers, and other important information on staying healthy during finals. 

• You deserve new and continued support/help from your student government during finals week.

In addition to student government, I’m involved with Lion Caucus and Tour Guiding for the University. In both of these roles, I brag about the amazing accomplishments of the students at Penn State. It would be an honor to get to represent such a diverse, hard-working, and prideful school through our student government. 

If you decide to elect me to the 19th Assembly, I promise to go into every General Assembly, every committee meeting, and cast every vote with a ‘students-first’ mentality.
