Hi all! My name is Noah Youcheff and I am seeking the opportunity to once again represent the College of Information Sciences and Technology as their Academic Representative and Student Senator. I am in my second year pursuing a degree in Security and Risk Analysis with a minor in Politics and Public Policy. In the previous 19th Assembly, I served the College of IST faithfully as both their academic representative and student senator. I hope to continue this service into the 20th!

In the 19th Assembly, I was internally elected to serve as the Chair of the Academic Affairs Committee. Within Academic Affairs, my committee focused on resolving issues in academic policy, increasing student council collaboration, and making students aware of their academic rights. I am proud of the work the Academic Affairs committee accomplished this year, and intend to continue to expand on these initiatives. Specific initiatives I would want to pursue under Academic Affairs next year include revising the attendance policy to make it more clear for students, recognizing the day after THON as a university-excused absence for THON dancers, and expanding open educational resources to decrease the cost of education for students.

Outside of UPUA, I am an active member of my IST community. I serve in both the IST Undergraduate Student Council and IST Diplomats. These experiences allow me to connect with my constituents and be more involved in their lives. Actively listening to my peers grants me the ability to have a greater understanding of their problems, which I seek to continually address through my work in student government. By connecting IST with the UPUA, we can collaborate with the greater University community at large by connecting our students with resources outside of the college. I plan to leverage my connections within UPUA to connect the IST community to other colleges, fostering a greater sense of community and unity that will benefit everyone involved.
