Hey Penn State!

I’m Amaad Zaidi, and I’m running for an At-Large Representative position in the University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) because I believe in a smarter, greener, and more student-driven Penn State.

As the College of Engineering Representative in the 19th Assembly, I worked to expand sustainability-focused coursework, enhance student engagement initiatives, and lead efforts that increased campus sustainability by 20%. I also served as the THON Donor and Alumni Relations Chair for UPUA, where our team successfully raised over $10K for THON families, strengthening our university’s commitment to supporting those in need.

Beyond UPUA, I’ve led initiatives in energy innovation and student advocacy—conducting solar energy research at the University of Oxford, designing assistive technology to improve accessibility, and championing efforts to expand sustainability education and resources across campus.

I may not be the sun that lights up the world, but I can be the bulb that brightens my street. Even small efforts can create meaningful change, and that’s exactly what I want to do—be a voice that uplifts, a leader who listens, and a representative who delivers results.

If elected, I will fight for:

✅ A More Sustainable Campus – Making sustainability a priority by expanding composting, launching student-led renewable energy projects, and integrating sustainability deeper into academics.

✅ Better Student Resources – Advocating for increased mental health support and accessible funding for student-led initiatives.

✅ Innovation & Infrastructure Improvements – Expanding maker spaces, boosting funding for hands-on student projects, empowering students to turn ideas into reality, improving classroom technology, and enhancing outdoor study and collaboration spaces.
