Hello! My name is David Andrew Washabaugh VI, and I am excited to be running once again to continue serving the undergraduate student body and the University Park Undergraduate Association at Pennsylvania State University! I am from Fulton County, Pennsylvania, and the great town of McConnellsburg. I currently work for Penn State Campus Recreation as Water Safety Instructor!
After being appointed to serve in the 19th Assembly as an At-Large Representative, I had the opportunity to promote sustainability, civic engagement, and communication with students across campus. During my time, I was elected to serve as the first Association of Residence Hall Students liaison. This position allowed me to build a strong relationship between ARHS and UPUA, fostering collaboration for the betterment of the student body. In this role, I was able to promote both organizations to each other, emphasizing the importance of working together to support student success.
As an At-Large Representative, my legislative and advocacy efforts have primarily focused on civic engagement and sustainability on campus. While serving on the Committee on Campus Operations and the Committee on Government and Community Relations, I had the opportunity to champion these initiatives. Whether it was increasing local procurement or hosting a debate for political parties on campus, I have worked to advocate for the ideas and concerns that students bring to me.
My values of representation, honesty, and transparency are always at the forefront of my actions. Every decision I make reflects these values, the values of students, and the values of Penn State. I am always listening to what students need because, after all, they are the most vital part of student government. What is a student government without the students it represents?
I would greatly appreciate your support on Election Day and hope to have the opportunity to serve you all once again in the 20th Assembly! Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any questions!
