Hey all, my name is Maguire Younes, and I am running for an At-Large position in the University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) because I believe in building a better Penn State. As a current At-Large Member, Chair of Campus Operations, University Park Student Fee Board Liaison, and a member of the Presidential Leadership Academy, I have dedicated my time to problem-solving, advocacy, and ensuring that our university’s systems work for the students they serve.

During this past term, I have worked on several key initiatives, including HUB Lawn WiFi, which is coming soon to improve campus connectivity. I have led harm reduction efforts, successfully rolling out Narcan and drink testing strips to over 75% of Greek life chapters. I have also advocated for and worked toward the installation of free menstrual product dispensers across campus.

Looking ahead, I want to continue improving campus infrastructure by expanding WiFi access across outdoor spaces and high-traffic areas, advocating for better public transportation options, and ensuring campus buildings are maintained and upgraded to meet student needs. As a member of the Student Fee Board, I understand how critical it is to ensure that student funds are allocated effectively to support initiatives that directly benefit us. Sustainability is also a priority, and I will push for more composting options, increased use of renewable energy on campus, and better waste reduction initiatives. Penn State has the potential to be a leader in sustainability, and I want to ensure that our university takes meaningful steps toward that goal.
