Carlos Bennetts

Hello, my name is Carlos Bennetts. I am a third-year Bunton-Waller Fellow majoring in Business Management with minors in Spanish and Information Management Systems. I’ve had the privilege of being involved in Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity (Phi Who) as the Social Chair and the Head Recruitment Chair. I currently serve on the Interfraternity Council Executive Board as the Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. I also had the honor of serving as an At-Large Representative in the UPUA’s 19th Assembly for about five weeks, after I joined to fill a representative vacancy. Through all of these positions, I have discovered and cultivated my passion for advocating for student voices, creating and implementing change, and spearheading policies and initiatives to support a more inclusive and diverse campus.

As a member of the Interfraternity Council Executive Board, I’ve worked closely with students and administration to create and implement more inclusive and diverse processes for all 35 active IFC fraternity chapters here at Penn State. I’ve collaborated cross-functionally with my peers to evaluate new initiatives and events that can support all Greek Life councils here at Penn State. I’ve also served on the executive board of my fraternity, where I helped increase our alumni engagement by nearly 200% during the 12 months I served.

My goal as an At-Large Representative is to advocate for all undergraduate students at Penn State. Whether it’s improving campus resources, ensuring diverse student voices are heard, or addressing any student fears, concerns, wants, and needs, I’m committed to making sure every student’s voice is prioritized in the change-making process.
I believe in open communication and working collaboratively with students to make positive changes. I’m here to listen, advocate, and work for the betterment of our campus community. One reason I want to be elected as an At-Large Representative is to give myself a chance to explore the different communities that make Penn State. This means that maybe I’ll attend an event I wouldn’t have attended before, or perhaps I’ll become more involved in a community that’s not my own— all in an effort to hear and understand what students want to see.

I would be honored to represent you as your At-Large Representative and work together to build a stronger, more inclusive campus. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or ideas. Let’s make this year the best one yet!
