Fletcher Port

Hi Penn State! My name is Fletcher Port and I am a Junior studying Mechanical Engineering. I was born in Philadelphia and have lived in Annapolis, Maryland the last several years. UPUA has been an incredible continuation of my lifelong commitment to student advocacy. My Freshman year I was an at-large representative and my Sophomore the Chair of Campus Operations where we produced dozens of initiatives that improved campus infrastructure. This year I had the great honor of serving as the Speaker of the Assembly. I am involved in Lion Ambassadors, THON, and the College of Engineering.

I am running for At-Large Representative within the UPUA because I know our Penn State education is not just an education, but an experience. One where Penn State students deserve equitable opportunities to thrive. While we have thousands of incredible parts of Penn State, to truly love it is to appreciate where we can grow it more! In understanding that, I would love to work to provide the best experience possible for future Penn State generations.

As an At-Large Representative Candidate my platform is broken into 2 key areas:

Campus Infrastructure:

Recycling in dorm facilities

Urging Penn State forward on Carbon Neutrality goals

Campus infrastructure – pollock renovations

Continuation in increasing accessibility

Increasing conversations on Penn State carbon net neutrality

Fleet electrification advocacy

Bike Lanes on campus

Increased Lyft investments for late night ride share

College Affordability:

More affordable off campus housing

19-credit surcharge exceptions

Scholarships availability and promotion

Basic Needs Expansion

University textbook price caps

$15 minimum wage for on campus students

I hope to have your support! Feel free to reach out with any questions. We are!
