John Papadopoulos is a third-year finance major in the Smeal College of Business from Berwyn, PA. While currently studying abroad, he has held leadership positions in organizations across campus, including the Nittany Lion Consulting Group, Schreyer Consulting Group, Phi Beta Lambda Professional Business Fraternity, and Penn State Hellenic Student Association. John’s heavy involvement in Smeal during his underclassmen years provided him with a unique perspective on the current state and future potential of the College and its students. His main goal as Academic College Representative is to ensure for the alignment of goals between the Academic Affairs Committee of the UPUA and Smeal leadership and students as we navigate current issues and the execution of the Smeal 2030 Strategic Plan.

With a background in student government, serving as Student Body President of the #1 ranked public high school in Pennsylvania, John has experience with managing the needs of various stakeholders. John hopes to enable the success of Smeal students by advocating for support from the university through the Academic Affairs Committee. John’s previous professional and extracurricular experiences have provided him with the ability to serve as a voice for Smeal students and effectively manage the responsibilities of the position.
