Hello! My name is Joshua Meert, and I am excited to announce my candidacy for At-Large Representative in UPUA. Penn State has been more than just a university to me—it has been a community that fosters passion, leadership, and the drive to make a difference. I am eager to continue serving my fellow students and ensuring that every voice is heard in student government.
I am from Carlisle PA, and throughout my time at Penn State, I have immersed myself in organizations that prioritize service, advocacy, and student engagement. I currently serve as the Service Chair for Phi Sigma Pi, a role that has allowed me to connect with students and create meaningful service initiatives that benefit both our campus and surrounding communities. Additionally, as the former THON Chair for Club Dodgeball, I dedicated myself to fundraising and increasing student involvement in one of Penn State’s most impactful philanthropic efforts.
My experiences in student leadership have shaped my commitment to making Penn State a more inclusive, accessible, and supportive environment for all students. If elected as an At-Large Representative, I will focus on:
Expanding Student Well-Being Resources, enhancing student engagement, and advocating for affordability & accessibility
Above all, I believe in a student government that is transparent, proactive, and committed to real change. The most important part of UPUA is the students it represents, and I am ready to listen, advocate, and take action to improve student life at Penn State.
I would be honored to have your support on Election Day and would love the opportunity to represent you in the 20th Assembly. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or ideas—I want to hear from you!
