My name is Judith Rojas, and I am excited to announce my candidacy for At-Large Representative in the 20th Assembly of the University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) at Penn State. As a second-year student from Fairfield County, Connecticut, I have been actively involved in student advocacy and currently serve as a Representative for the Latino Caucus. My experiences within UPUA and my other involvements on campus such as the First Generation Committee in the College of Liberal Arts have deepened my passion for student representation, and I am eager to continue making a meaningful impact on our campus.
Since joining UPUA, I have had the privilege of working on impactful legislation aimed at improving the student experience. One of the projects I have contributed to is the implementation of “Know Your Rights” cards, an initiative designed to empower students by providing them with essential legal information. Additionally, helped pass a resolution to incorporate identity caucus into New Student Orientation (NSO). Engaging in these initiatives has strengthened my dedication to creating a more inclusive and accessible Penn State, where every student feels valued, supported, and heard.
Working as a Latino Caucus Representative has been an incredibly rewarding experience, and I want to continue making an impact within both UPUA and Latino Caucus. By increasing my involvement in Latino Caucus, I will have the opportunity to run for an At-Large position within UPUA and further contribute to both organizations in meaningful ways.
If elected as an At-Large Representative, I will keep on increasing campus inclusivity and accessibility. I believe in creating collaboration between student organizations, university offices, and advocacy groups to ensure that all students, regardless of their background, have the resources they need to succeed. By strengthening these partnerships, we can create a campus culture that is welcoming to everyone. I’ll also work on expanding academic support and resources. Every student should have access to the tools necessary for academic success. I will advocate for expanded tutoring services, more accessible academic advising, and initiatives that help students navigate their coursework and career paths. Lastly, I’ll work on improving student wellness and campus life. College should be a place where students feel both challenged and supported. I will work to promote mental health resources, enhance student wellness initiatives, and advocate for policies that contribute to a balanced, enriching college experience.
I am deeply committed to making Penn State a better place for all students, and I would be honored to have your support in this election.
If you’d like to endorse my campaign or learn more about UPUA, please reach out to me. Additionally, feel free to reach out with any questions, ideas, or concerns – I want to hear from you! Together, we can build a more inclusive, supportive, and student-centered Penn State.
Let’s make a difference, one step at a time!
