Hello everyone! My name is Sarah Beaver, and I am a second-year student studying Agricultural and Extension Education. I am running to be the College of Agricultural Sciences Representative in the 20th Assembly of the University Park Undergraduate Association.

Tucked away in the northeast corner of campus is what many like to call Ag Hill—the home of over 2,000 students studying the many disciplines within the agricultural industry. With 17 majors, 13 minors, over 50 clubs and organizations, and countless opportunities, the College of Agricultural Sciences is truly special, and I am proud to call it home. Over the past year, I have had the honor of serving my peers as the 19th Assembly’s College of Agricultural Sciences Representative, and I hope to continue that service in the next assembly.

Since being elected last spring, I have made it my priority to serve the College of Ag to the best of my ability. Getting more involved in the college was my first step. Becoming an Ag Advocate, serving on the Ag Student Council executive team, and joining the Coaly Society—a leadership and honors society for the college—has allowed me to build connections and better advocate for our community.

Throughout the 19th Assembly, I worked on various initiatives in the Academic Affairs and Campus Operations committees. I helped plan, execute, and enhance the legislation for both the Fall and Spring Student Council Roundtables. Alongside another representative, I created and administered a survey to collect data on how classes were conducted on Election Day in accordance with Faculty Senate Policy 42-27. I also successfully passed legislation directly connected to the College of Agricultural Sciences, including resolutions supporting the preservation of the historic Millie Kepler Barn, advocating for Pennsylvania local and hyperlocal food procurement, and securing funding for the 2025 National Agriculture Day Celebration.

My desire to return to the 20th Assembly is not based on past accomplishments but on the work that remains unfinished. If reelected, I will continue striving to enhance opportunities, resources, and representation for all students in the College of Agricultural Sciences and the broader student body.
