Sheikh Njie

Biography
Sheikh, the only son of his parents was born on the 9th of March 2007 in the Gambia. He has 3 siblings. Sheikh is an 18 year old international student from the Gambia. He started his academic journey at Ndow’s comprehensive Lower Basic School, where he develop into a brilliant young intellect, way above the average person. During his final year in that school, he was voted by his colleges as the head-boy of the school where he manage all the affairs of the students and began to develop his leadership skills from an early age. He later proceeded to Gambia Methodist Academic for his junior and senior secondary school. He also excelled very well academically throughout in his junior year, he did the national exam where he had one of the best results. He then proceeded to senior secondary school where he decided to focus on science, at that time he aspired to be a medical doctor of engineer. During this time, throughout this time, Sheikh passed all exams with flying colours. He even did a private exam before the international exams where here was among the only two people to have an A in English language in that exam. Also, in the final international exams he passed with flying colours being part of the top 15 students from his school. During that time Sheikh also served as the head-boy of the school, the head of the science club and also member of the peer health club. He also was the head of the of the roach house. She did not only focus on his academics and academic extra curriculum related-activities, but he also played sports, both soccer and basketball.
Sheikh is also a very charismatic person who was loved by the entire school, his dedication and hard work made him admired by the all his teachers.
Aside from academics, Sheikh also focused on extracurricular activity starting from a spelling and poetry competition at just age 10, he registered for both the spelling poetry and was the only finalist in both categories and even went further to be the second runner-up of the poetry section. From there he was invited by the national broadcaster to be part of their kids TV show. During that time there, he had proved that he can be very good and hosted radio shows and also panels.
Sheikh later joined the Children National Assembly, which is an advocacy group which advocate for the rights of children in the country (Gambia) at his time there he cemented himself as a key person, standing out among his peers all the times. He attended meetings, events, workshops, and many other things representing the children of the Gambia at all levels. He was even voted as the Regional Deputy speaker for his region. He was also a delegate at the NAYCONF, which is the largest youth gathering of The Gambia where there are cultural and sports activities and resolutions are made and handed over to the government for implementation
Following his success in academics and extracurricular activities, his parents sent him over to the United States to further his education. Today, Sheikh is an international student at The Pennsylvania State University majoring in mechanical engineering with the possibility of minoring in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
