Erik Bolang

Candidate Biography
I am Erik Bolang, and I am running for an At-Large Representative position in UPUA. Originally from Pinckney Michigan, I came to The Pennsylvania State University to further my academic and athletic career at one of the finest academic institutions in the nation. I am a second-year student majoring in Political Science, and I have represented all students in the Student Life committee for one assembly. I also have experience advocating on behalf of Penn State students for fairer funding during my time in Lion Caucus.

If elected, some ideas I have moving forward include:
– Eliminating monetary barriers to students seeking Penn State’s mental health resources
– Help facilitate a more streamlined pathway for students to make suggestions to UPUA Representatives
– Establish a Pen Pal service for incoming students to reach out to current students
– Revisit having an asynchronous learning day on the Monday post THON
– Bring back S.A.A.C. liaison

I believe that Penn State is at its best when every student has the opportunity to be heard and helped. Let’s leave Penn State better than when we came in! I am so thankful for everyone I’ve been able to work with so far, and I am beyond excited about possibly having the opportunity to continue.
