Candidate Biography
Hi everyone! My name is Reyna Gowie and I’m a freshman on campus intending to major in Industrial Engineering. A little bit about me: I love philosophy and thinking about big questions that don’t really have answers. I like writing… short stories, poetry, songs, really anything that comes to mind. I’m a very ambitious person and I want to accomplish a lot in my lifetime. I hope to travel the world to see exotic places and experience new cultures. I’m also striving to be a social justice advocate in my professional career as an industrial engineer focusing on equity in the workforce, and in design.
I’m running for an At-Large Representative position because I believe that I can be the change I want to see in the world. As cheesy as that sounds, I think that progress is made when ordinary people come together to stand up and speak out, making extraordinary progress. I want to work with the PSU undergraduate community to make the policy changes they need. I want to advocate for social inclusion, as well as mental health awareness. Let’s make progress together!
